Weathering

Don't Let the Weather Spoil the Match!

Brick & Stone weathering was developed by Brick Centre Ltd to solve the problem of blending new brickwork with original weathered bricks. Originally marketed as "Brickmatch" , it is a paint-like chemical that deposits a stain on bricks and stone that simulates the natural effects of weathering.

The photo on the left demonstrates the typical scenario of light coloured new brickwork built into a wall that has drastically toned down over several decades. The picture on the right shows the same new bricks after one application of Medium Shade Brick & Stone Weathering.

Application Methods

!
Application is by brush or sponge.
For most bricks , application is usually by brush . However , for bricks with a very low water absorbtion - such as blue bricks and engineering bricks - it is often better to apply with a sponge , allow a few minutes for the chemical to start to dry , and then dab again - removing the residue from the surface of the bricks. Always do a small trial area , where it will not be seen , so as to make sure you are happy with the final result , prior to starting on the main visible work area.
