Reclaimed bricks are bricks that have usually been cleaned by hand from a demolition site. Therefore , each batch can be different . This is not just because they may be a different “type” of brick , but also because bricks can often have “weathered” differently depending on their location.
The method used to demolish a property , as well as the approach to the cleaning process can also be very important factors regards the finish , final quality and appearance of a batch of reclaimed bricks. Therefore , Brick Centre Ltd aims to keep each batch separate and strongly recommends that reclaimed bricks should be inspected in stock before purchase.
Also , as a result of certain cleaning methods , purchasers should expect reclaimed bricks to have more chips than modern new bricks and to allow for a higher percentage of waste.
The huge benefit of using them , of coarse , is they can present an opportunity to use a brick that is no longer produced and that is already naturally weathered so as to blend in with existing.
